Pakistan No, 1 and top seed Aqeel Khan qualified for Semifinals of Subh-e-Nau National Tennis Championship 2016, Sarah Mahboob reached next round of Ladies Singles in an easy contest against Yasha Atique By-Asghar Ali Mubarak Islamabad- Pakistan No, 1 and top seed Aqeel Khan qualified for Semifinals of Subh-e-Nau National Clay Court Tennis Championship 2016here at PTF Complex Tennis Courts on Thursday. Aqeel Khan won his quarterfinal match against MudassarMurtaza after a healthy competition. Aqeel will take on Arham in semifinal who once again shocked another seeded player Usman Rafique. Arham, who had defeated third seed Yasir in his second round match, this time became victorious against 7th seed player. Arham showed great excitement and skill against experienced opponent. Fourth seed Shehzad Khan avoided scare of defeat against 8th seed M. Muzammil after losing first set in his quarterfinal tourney. Muzammil won first set in a hard fought set, however, could not keep his momentum in next two sets. Shehzad Khan will meet M. Abid in second semifinal of Men’s Singles. Abid defeated HeeraAshiq after a good contest. AmanAtique, Syed NofilKaleem qualified for semifinals of Boys U-18 after winning their respective matches. OIC rejects the efforts to equate freedom struggle in Kashmir with terrorism and expresses concern at gross human rights violations committed by Indian forces. OIC Secretary General’s Special Representative on Jammu and Kashmir, H.E. Ambassador Abdullah Al-Alim called on Mr. Sartaj Aziz the Adviser to the Prime Minister Pakistan on Foreign Affairs, By. Asghar Ali Mubarak Islamabad-The OIC Secretary General’s Special Representative on Jammu and Kashmir, H.E. Ambassador Abdullah Al-Alim called on the Adviser to the Prime Minister Pakistan on Foreign Affairs on other day. He was accompanied by a delegation consisting of Director for Asian Affairs of OIC and the representatives of Islamic Solidarity Fund and Islamic Development Bank. The Adviser welcomed the visiting OIC delegation and appreciated the steadfast support of Muslim Ummah expressed through the OIC platform for the valiant people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their just cause for realization of their right to self-determination in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions. He thanked the OIC Secretary General and Special Representative for their efforts and keen interest in Kashmir dispute. The Adviser welcomed the establishment of OIC standing mechanism of Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) to monitor human rights violations in IOK and invited IPHRC delegation to visit AJK every year. The Special Representative stressed that Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine issues are of central significance to OIC. He briefed about OIC’s position on Kashmir dispute which is crystallized in the Joint Communiqué of 13th OIC Summit held in Istanbul, 14-15 April 2016. The OIC continues its principled support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for realization of their legitimate right to self-determination. It calls on India to implement pending UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir which declare that the final disposition of the State of Jammu and Kashmir would be made in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the people expressed through the democratic method of a free and impartial plebiscite conducted under the auspices of the United Nations. Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son Ali Haider Gilani has been recovered from Ghazni Afghanistan in a joint operation by Afghan and US forces last night By.Asghar Ali Mubarak ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son Ali Haider Gilani has been recovered from Ghazni Afghanistan in a joint operation by Afghan and US forces last night, three years after he was kidnapped from a pre-election rally in Multan .The news was first broken by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari in a tweet. The news confirmed in a statement by the Foreign Office in Islamabad. “The Afghan National Security Adviser, Mr. Mohammad Hanif Atmar, in a telephone call to the Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sartaj Aziz, informed that Mr. Ali Haider Gilani son of Mr. Yusuf Raza Gilani, former Prime Minister of Pakistan, has been recovered today in a joint operation carried out by the Afghan and US security forces in Ghazni, Afghanistan,” said the statement from the Foreign Office. The Foreign Office said that transfer of Ali Haider Gilani to Pakistan was being arranged following a required medical check-up. Ali Haider Gilani was seized by suspected Taliban militants in a hail of gunfire on the outskirts of Multan on May 9, 2013, two days before the general elections in which he was campaigning. Gunmen on a motorbike opened fire before abducting Ali Haider Gilani in a black Honda car. His secretary and a bodyguard were killed and four people wounded. Haider was contesting a seat in the Punjab provincial assembly. In the three years he was abducted, Haider Gilani was able to contact his family only once through an eight-minute telephone calls on May 24, 2015. His father, former PM Yousuf Raza Gilani, was in Multan along with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who also spoke to Ali Gilani over the phone. “My son Ali Haider Gilani told me that he is happy and safe at (an) unknown place,” Yousaf Raza Gilani had said after the phone call. Asean Red ‘s hero was Major Haseeb, who scored 4 goals in the final to beat Varo line 6-4 in the final of 3rd Serena Hotels Polo Cup 2016, which was held here at Islamabad Club Polo Ground. Six teams participated in the championship, which were divided into two pools. OIC rejects the efforts to equate freedom struggle in Kashmir with terrorism and expresses concern at gross human rights violations committed by Indian forces. OIC Secretary General’s Special Representative on Jammu and Kashmir, H.E. Ambassador Abdullah Al-Alim called on Mr. Sartaj Aziz the Adviser to the Prime Minister Pakistan on Foreign Affairs, By. Asghar Ali Mubarak Islamabad-The OIC Secretary General’s Special Representative on Jammu and Kashmir, H.E. Ambassador Abdullah Al-Alim called on the Adviser to the Prime Minister Pakistan on Foreign Affairs on other day. He was accompanied by a delegation consisting of Director for Asian Affairs of OIC and the representatives of Islamic Solidarity Fund and Islamic Development Bank. The Adviser welcomed the visiting OIC delegation and appreciated the steadfast support of Muslim Ummah expressed through the OIC platform for the valiant people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their just cause for realization of their right to self-determination in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions. He thanked the OIC Secretary General and Special Representative for their efforts and keen interest in Kashmir dispute. The Adviser welcomed the establishment of OIC standing mechanism of Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) to monitor human rights violations in IOK and invited IPHRC delegation to visit AJK every year. The Special Representative stressed that Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine issues are of central significance to OIC. He briefed about OIC’s position on Kashmir dispute which is crystallized in the Joint Communiqué of 13th OIC Summit held in Istanbul, 14-15 April 2016. The OIC continues its principled support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for realization of their legitimate right to self-determination. It calls on India to implement pending UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir which declare that the final disposition of the State of Jammu and Kashmir would be made in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the people expressed through the democratic method of a free and impartial plebiscite conducted under the auspices of the United Nations. Asean Red ‘s hero was Major Haseeb, who scored 4 goals in the final to beat Varo line 6-4 in the final of 3rd Serena Hotels Polo Cup 2016, which was held here at Islamabad Club Polo Ground. Six teams participated in the championship, which were divided into two pools. Before the finals an exhibition match was held involving kids aged 10 to 14 and crowd highly appreciated kids’ polo skills.In the final, it was Asean Red who took the lead in the first chukker through Major Haseeb.Their lead was soon doubled by Bilal Humyun.Varoline took one back through Raza Akram just as the second chukker started.But Asean Red bounced back and Haseeb scored third goal.Varoline again reduced the lead through Omer.But Haseeb once again struck to take back 2-goal lead.In third chukker, Varoline completely outclassed Asean Red by scoring two goals to square things though Nausher and Omer.But Varoline ran out of gas in the fourth chukker and Asean Red hit two goals through Arsalan and Haseeb to complete the victory.The final of 3rd Serena Hotels Polo Cup 2016 was full enjoyments for the polo lovers at Polo Club Ground Islamabad.
