Islamabad-The Media and sports departments have long been associated. The role of media has always been vital in boosting sports activities in Pakistan. This was stated by Asghar Ali Mubarak founder president South Asian Sports Journalists Association while meeting with Dr. M. Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera, Director General Pakistan Sports Board. He said that media has got focal position in country current situation. In the present era, close interaction between the media and sports departments are need of the day. We can bring peace through arranged the sports activities. Asghar Ali Mubarak congratulates DG PSB and entire team for holding the successful national sports conference at Peshawar. He discussed various issues with PSB officials regarding the role of media in sports in connection with national conferences. Dr. M. Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera, Director General PSB discussed the Pakistan Sports Board role for the promotion of sports in Pakistan .He said that under the direction of PM Nawaz Sharif we are promoting the sports culture in Pakistan through sports activities. He told that Pakistan Sports Board was established under the Ministry of Education through the Sports (Development and Control) Ordinance, 1962 as a corporate body for the purposes of promoting and developing uniform standards of competition in sports in Pakistan comparable to the standards prevailing internationally, and regulating and controlling sports in Pakistan on a national basis. After the devolution of the Ministry of Sports in June, 2011, the administrative control of the Pakistan Sports Board has transferred to Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination. He said that PSB top priority is to promote the country’s sports and players and also revival of international sports in Pakistan. During the meeting Dr. Waqar Ahmed Deputy Director General (Rehabilitation & Treatment) Pakistan Sports Board was also present.

Participated as Contingent Official in Beijing Olympic Games in China – 2008, Commonwealth Games in India – 2010, London Olympic Games – 2012, Asian Beach Games held in Thailand – 2014, Asian Games held in South Korea – 2014 and Commonwealth Games held in Scotland – 2014.Attended Olympic Solidarity Course in Volleyball at Male, Maldives – 1992, International Volleyball Coaching Course at Tsukuba University, Japan – 1992, Course Presenter Course at Australian Institute of Sports Canberra, Australia – 1998, International Coaching Conference “Sports Coach” at Melbourne, Australia – 1998, International Coach Education Conference at Sydney, Australia – 1999 and RADDCA Doping Control Officer Training Workshop at Tashkent, Uzbekistan – 2013.
