MPA Majeed Achakzai arrested after his vehicle ran over traffic cop Quetta
Quetta: Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party MPA Dr Abdul Majeed Khan Achakzai, whose vehicle ran over a traffic policeman in Quetta on Tuesday, has been arrested on Sunday to day 25TH JUNE 2017.Abdul Majeed Khan Achakzai’s vehicle was speeding along GPO Chowk intersection when it rammed into Traffic Sub-Inspector Haji Ataullah, who was performing his duty in the middle of the road.Sub-Inspector Haji Ataullah succumbed to his injuries despite being rushed to the hospital.A video of the incident went viral on social media, following which police took action against the death of their colleague. However, allegedly under pressure to ‘hush up’ the issue, the police initially registered a criminal case at the Civil Lines Police Station against ‘unidentified persons’.Achakzai was elected to the provincial assembly from Killa Abdullah on PB-13. Police have on Thursday lodged a case against unidentified men over the killing of a traffic warden who was killed when the car of a MPA hit him in Quetta’s GPO Chowk, according to CCTV record.As per details, MPA Majeed Khan Achakzai’s car hit a Traffic Warden Attaullah in GPO Chowk, killing him on the spot.Police took the car of the MPA in custody and arrested the driver, however, instead of lodging a case against Majeed Khan Achakzai or his driver, the police registered a case against unidentified men, while driver was also released after brief detention.
