Lahore Qalandars became Pakistan Super League champions for the second time in a row by defeating Multan, Lahore is the first team to defend the title in the PSL.
The final battle for the trophy of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8 took place between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Defending champion Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Afridi won the toss and decided to bat first and playing first Lahore scored 200 runs in the allotted overs and Multan got a target of 201 runs to win.

On behalf of Lahore, Abdullah Shafiq 65, Fakhar Zaman 39 and Shaheen Afridi scored 44 runs off 15 balls. Shaheen Afridi also hit 5 sixes and 2 fours. On behalf of Multan, Osama Mir dismissed three players.
In response, Multan Sultans fought hard but managed to score 199 runs in the allotted overs and lost by one run.
On behalf of Multan, Riley Russo scored 52 runs, Rizwan 34 and Khushdil Shah scored 25 runs. Captain Shaheen Afridi performed all-round on behalf of Lahore, he scored 44 runs in the first batting and then guided 4 players to the pavilion in defense of the target.
Rashid Khan took two wickets while David Vissa took one wicket.
Speaking after winning the match, Shaheen said, “I thought I would help the team at a difficult time, the victory was achieved with the prayers of the parents.”
It should be noted that Lahore Qalandars have become the second team to win the PSL title for the second time. Earlier, Islamabad United has also become PSL champions twice. Multan Sultans, Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi have won the event once each.
Earlier before the final match, there was also a colorful closing ceremony of the event in which famous artists performed their art.
Moreover,Mohammad Rizwan once again climbed up to the top position on the list of most runs in Pakistan Super League (PSL) QQseason 8.
During Eliminator 2, Peshawar Zalmi’s captain Babar Azam took the top position from Rizwan after scoring his 37th run in the match. Rizwan had scored 516 runs whereas Babar reached 517 runs to become the highest run-scorer. Overall, Babar scored 42 in 36 balls.
On Saturday, during the final against Lahore Qalandars at their home, Rizwan scored two boundaries to top the list once again with 524 runs.
Rizwan is the only batter in PSL to have scored 500+ runs in three seasons. Babar achieved this milestone in two editions.

لاہور کی جانب سے عبداللہ شفیق 65، فخر زمان 39 اور شاہین آفریدی نے برق رفتار 15 گیندوں پر 44 رنز بنائے۔ شاہین آفریدی نے 5 چھکے اور 2 چوکے بھی لگائے۔ ملتان کی جانب سے اسامہ میر نے تین کھلاڑیوں کو آؤٹ کیا۔ جواب میں ملتان سلطانز نے ڈٹ کر مقابلہ کیا تاہم مقررہ اوورز میں 199 رنز بناسکی اور ایک رن سے شکست کھا گئی۔ ملتان کی جانب سے رلی روسو 52 ، رضوان 34 اور خوشدل شاہ 25 رنز بناکر نمایاں رہے۔ لاہور کی جانب سے کپتان شاہین آفریدی نے آل راؤنڈ کارکردگی کا مظاہرہ کیا ، پہلے بیٹنگ میں انہوں نے 44 رنز بنائے اور پھر ہدف کے دفاع میں 4 کھلاڑیوں کو بھی پویلین کی راہ دکھائی۔راشد خان نے دو جبکہ ڈیوڈ ویسا نے ایک وکٹ حاصل کی۔ فائنل میچ جیتنے کے بعد گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کپتان شاہین آفریدی نے کہا کہ ’میں نے سوچا تھا مشکل وقت ٹیم کے کام آؤں گا ، والدین کی دعاؤں سے جیت حاصل ہوئی ہے ۔‘
خیال رہے کہ لاہور قلندرز دوسری بار پی ایس ایل ٹائٹل جیتنے والی دوسری ٹیم بن گئی ہے۔ اس سے قبل اسلام آباد یونائیٹڈ بھی دو بار پی ایس ایل چیمپئن بن چکی ہے۔ ملتان سلطانز، کراچی کنگز، کوئٹہ گلیڈی ایٹرز اور پشاور زلمی ایک ایک بار ایونٹ جیت چکےہیں۔فائنل میچ سے قبل ایونٹ کی رنگا رنگ اختتامی تقریب بھی ہوئی جس میں نامور فنکاروں نے اپنے فن کا مظاہرہ کیا۔
