”Govt of Pakistan to file reference against JIT report’’

Islamabad.As the joint investigation team investigating the Sharif family’s offshore assets has suggested filing of reference against PM Nawaz Sharif and his family with the National Accountability Bureau, the ruling party has decided to challenge the probe body’s report, sources say.
In its 256-page report submitted to the apex court on Monday, the JIT found “significant disparity” between the known sources of income and the accumulated wealth of the Sharif family.

According to Express News’ bureau chief Amir Ilyas Rana, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will challenge the report in the Supreme Court.
Quoting sources, Rana said planning minister Ahsan Iqbal along with a counsel is expected to soon hold a presser, informing the public about its official stance on the JIT report. The prime minister, he added, will not resign.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan demanded immediate resignation of the prime minister.
