Peshawar- An ad hoc committee is formed under the chairman ship Mr. Muhammad Riaz the, former Managing Director, Associated Press Of Pakistan (APP) formed for particular purpose to conducted the country wide union’s of journalists elections till the 30th January 2017.After that country wide union’s of journalists elections the new elected BDM members will eligible to elect the new office bearers Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ). Mr. Muhammad Riaz the, former Managing Director, Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) was unanimously   during the current meeting held for the purpose of Election Committee of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) polls. Earlier PFUJ Election Committee formed under the chairman ship Mr. Rahimullah Yusufzai members Mr. Shahid ur Rahman, Mr. Abdullah Jan, Ms. Farzana Ali and Mr. Kashifuddin Syed for PFUJ election. The Election Committee received the nomination papers by the candidates for the PFUJ elections which was scheduled at Peshawar Press Club on August 27th 2016.it is mentioned here that the ad hoc committee is formed for a particular purpose. Once the purpose is served it will dissolved automatically. Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) is arguably South Asia’s first association representing the journalists of Pakistan. To its credit, more than 60 years since its inception it has always stood out as a symbol of freedom of speech. The battles it waged for press freedom and for a democratic dispensation in the country will always remain etched in the collective memory of Pakistanis. PFUJ remains committed to the ideals for which it was established in 1950. Set up primarily to work towards a better working environment for Pakistani journalists, it didn’t remain isolated from the struggles and campaigns launched by the civil society. In fact, it was in the vanguard whenever sacrifices needed to be made and freedoms were to be won.
