PSL: Quetta Gladiators beat Karachi Kings by 8 wickets By.Asghar Ali Mubarak DUBAI: The Quetta Gladiators’ Ahmed Shahzad with his impressive innings lead Quetta Gladiators to its win against Karachi Kings by 8 wickets in the fourth match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) here on Saturday. Quetta Gladiators won the toss and elected to bowl first in the 4th game of Pakistan Super League (PSL) T20 league at Dubai cricket stadium The Gladiators secured a comfortable win against Karachi by chasing the target of 148 in just 17.2 overs for 2 wickets.Ahmed Shahzad scored remarkable 71 off 46 deliveries and clinched the title of man of the match. His superb innings consisted of 5 fours and 6 sixes. Luke Wright made 47 runs. Kevin Petersen and Sarfaraz Ahmed remained not out with 29 and 2 runs respectively.Quetta Gladiators also secured a total of 4 extras. Quetta Gladiators became the first team arrived UAE for Pakistan Super League T20 By.Asghar Ali Mubarak Dubai—The Quetta Gladiators became the first team to hit the shores of UAE as Pakistan Super League (PSL) nears materialization with just three days left before the event explodes into action on February 4.The Gladiators will play PSL opener against Islamabad United. The Islamabad United’s Head Coach Dean Jones shared that his team would play exciting brand of cricket.“Absolutely delighted to be part of PSL and looking ahead to exciting times over the next three weeks or so. We’re here to play exciting cricket and to hopefully win the competition,” Jones said. The Gladiators all-rounder Saad Nasim has urged the fans to back the team. “We’ve reached Dubai safely and I would like to call on all the Quetta Gladiators’ fans to support us as we bid to do well in the inaugural PSL,” Saad said on his arrival. The Gladiators were pumped up on their arrival and even shouted their slogan – Shan-e-Pakistan — at the entrance.The World’s leading players will be in action in the PSL which includes West Indies’ Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo and Andre Russell, Australian Shane Watson, Shaun Tait and Brad Haddin, Bangladesh’s Shakib al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal. Actor, model and singer Fawad Khan and Ali Zafar are the brand ambassadors for the franchise. Islamabad United is a Pakistani professional Twenty20 franchise team that will compete in the Pakistan Super League. The team is based in Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan and was formed in 2015 to compete in the first season of the Pakistan Super League. The franchise is owned by Leonine Global Investments through its sports entity Leonine Global Sports. The team will be captained by Pakistan’s most successful test captain Misbah-ul-Haq and coached by former Australian player Dean Jones. The team director will be former Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram. The opening game will see Misbah-ul-Haq’s Islamabad United taking on Sarfraz Ahmed’s Quetta Gladiators.
