Serena Hotels in celebrate ‘’A Day of Cricket’’ with media at Islamabad It was a great display of quality cricket where the Media XI emerged victorious By. Our sports correspondent/Asghar Ali Mubarak Islamabad: The Serena Hotels in collaboration with ET Memorial Trust hosted a fundraiser T20 match between Diplomats X1 and Media X1. ET Memorial Trust was founded by Mrs. Nighat Saeed. All proceeds of the match will go to Umeed-e-Noor, which is looked after by Mrs. Shaheen Toru, to help children with special needs. Mayor of Islamabad Sheikh Ansar graced the occasion with the Bosnian Ambassador H.E. Nedim Makarevic, Palestinian Ambassador H.E. Walid Abu Ali, and Mr. Mangala and Mr.Jayanath from the Sri Lankan High Commission, the Austrian Deputy Head of Mission H.E Lucas Bachmayer, Mr.Janesh from the Indian High Commission, Mr.Shakeel Anjum President Press Club, Mr.Javed Khan Radio Pakistan and Mr.Faisal Javed Khan along with their families. It was a great display of talent and quality cricket where the Media XI team emerged victorious. Mr.Kamran Riaz was man of the match and his team members Mr.Talat Hussain, Mr. Mohsin Ali, Mr.Abid Abbassi were there supporting him. The Serena Hotels sponsored this event under its Sports Diplomacy Initiative, which aims to promote healthy interaction amid various segments of the society and are committed to encourage and stimulate passion for sports amongst the youth of Pakistan. Serena Hotels has hosted numerous sporting events before such as the Chief of Air Staff Squash, President of Pakistan Gold Medal Golf Championship, Serena Hotels Total Football, and Serena Hotels Open Tennis Championship to name but a few.
