Rawalpindi ,Anti-polio campaign in full swing

Rawalpindi—Anti-polio drive in full swing, Anti-polio Campaign started in the entire district Rawalpindi from December 14. During the campaign, 1696 polio teams have been visited door-to-door and administer polio drops to 750,793 children less than five years of age. Mean while the District Heath Officer Rawalpindi Dr. Rafiq Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Cantt Rawalpindi and UC -MO Dr Mahfooz Ali visited many cover area during the anti Polio Campaign at Rawalpindi. The Anti-polio campaign staff deployed for this purpose issued special instructions and informed that no negligence in this regard would be tolerated. According to information received this correspondent a total 1696 mobile teams have been constituted for door-to-door vaccination of the children. Besides that 291 special centers are set up to facilitate the parents so that their children could be vaccinated in nearby areas. Sufficient quantity of vaccine is available. The Health Department officials have been directed to remain vigilant, particularly in those areas where polio-virus was found during the last campaign. All possible steps already have been taken by the Health Department to make the campaign a success. The Health Department officials said continuous efforts were being made to control polio. Special teams are working in the cover areas from where complaints about unattended children .In the last Anti-polio Campaign more than seven hundred and fifty thousand children below five years of age were administered polio drops during a four-day anti-polio drive in the district Rawalpindi. As many as 750,947 children below 5-year age were administered polio drops anti-polio Campaign. Mean while the District Heath Officer Rawalpindi Dr Rafiq Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Cantt Rawalpindi Nadia Sudhan and UC -MO Dr Mahfooz Ali visited many cover area during the anti Polio Campaign at Rawalpindi
