Prime Minister condemns Orakzai blast

Sunday strongly condemned the bomb blast that took place in Lower

Orakzai.

He deplored the loss of lives and expressed government’s

Resolve to eradicate the menace of terrorism and extremism.

The Prime Minister also asked the provincial governments to

Ensure public display of anti-terror helpline number 1717, so that

Such instances could be averted and their perpetrators were

Apprehended.

Provincial governments must take steps for speedy implementation of

National Action Plan: PM

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on

Sunday said that the provincial government must take steps in

coordination with the federal government to ensure rapid progress on

the implementation of the National Action Plan on countering

terrorism and extremism.

In a meeting with Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif here,

the Prime Minister said the incidents like Peshawar and Wagha were

extremely tragic and would never fade away from the memory.

He said sacrifices of innocent children, civilians as well as

the armed forces would come to fruition and the country would soon

be steered out of this mess.

He said it was heartening that the whole nation and the entire

political spectrum of the country were now on the same page in the fight

against terror after ironing out divergent views in long discussion

sessions.

The Prime Minister hailed the exemplary unity showed by all

political parties and expressed the confidence that this trend would

continue in future in effectively meeting the big challenges the

nation was faced with.

He said the extraordinary measures being adopted through the

21st amendment bill and by introducing amendments in the Army Act

were meant to eradicate the menace of terrorism and extremism within

a specified time frame. It will also strengthen the rule of law and

writ of the government in the country, he added.

The Prime Minister directed all security agencies to ensure

seamless coordination among each other for achieving optimum results

in shortest possible time.
