RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is on an official visit to Egypt, where he held important meetings with the country’s top military and religious leadership, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The official visit of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, aims to enhance military cooperation and defense cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
The Field Marshal met with Egyptian Minister of Defense and Defense Production General Abdul Majeed Saqr and Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa Fathi. Matters of mutual interest, regional security situation and bilateral defense cooperation were discussed in the meeting. The Field Marshal reiterated that Egypt is a brotherly country and cooperation between the two states will not only benefit the people of both states but will also help in achieving peace and stability in the region.
During his visit to the Ministry of Defense, the Field Marshal was warmly welcomed and presented with a guard of honor. The Field Marshal also laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the tomb of the late President Muhammad Anwar Sadat.
The Field Marshal also met with the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayyib, at the Mashaikh Al-Azhar Al-Sharif. The Grand Imam expressed his views on the challenges facing the Muslim Ummah. The Field Marshal highlighted the need to eliminate extremist ideologies and contradictory interpretations of Islam.

راولپنڈی: پاکستان کے چیف آف آرمی سٹاف فیلڈ مارشل سید عاصم منیر مصر کے سرکاری دورے پر ہیں، جہاں انہوں نے ملک کی اعلیٰ عسکری اور مذہبی قیادت سے اہم ملاقاتیں کیں، انٹر سروسز پبلک ریلیشنز (آئی ایس پی آر) کے مطابق، فیلڈ مارشل سید عاصم منیر چیف آف آرمی سٹاف کے سرکاری دورے کا مقصد دونوں برادر ممالک کے درمیان فوجی تعاون اور دفاعی تعاون کو بڑھانا ہے۔
فیلڈ مارشل نے مصر کے وزیر دفاع اور دفاعی پیداوار جنرل عبدالمجید صقر اور مصری مسلح افواج کے چیف آف سٹاف لیفٹیننٹ جنرل احمد خلیفہ فتحی سے ملاقات کی۔ ملاقات میں باہمی دلچسپی کے امور، علاقائی سلامتی کی صورتحال اور دوطرفہ دفاعی تعاون پر تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا۔ فیلڈ مارشل نے اس بات کا اعادہ کیا کہ مصر ایک برادر ملک ہے اور دونوں ریاستوں کے درمیان تعاون سے نہ صرف دونوں ریاستوں کے عوام کو فائدہ پہنچے گا بلکہ اس سے خطے میں امن و استحکام کے حصول میں بھی مدد ملے گی۔
وزارت دفاع کے دورے کے دوران فیلڈ مارشل کا پرتپاک استقبال کیا گیا اور انہیں گارڈ آف آنر پیش کیا گیا۔ فیلڈ مارشل نے نامعلوم فوجی کی یادگار اور مرحوم صدر محمد انور السادات کی قبر پر پھولوں کی چادر بھی چڑھائی۔
فیلڈ مارشل نے مشائخ الازہر الشریف میں الازہر کے گرینڈ امام شیخ احمد الطیب سے بھی ملاقات کی۔ عظیم الشان امام نے امت مسلمہ کو درپیش چیلنجز پر اپنے خیالات کا اظہار کیافیلڈ مارشل نے انتہا پسندانہ نظریات اور اسلام کی متضاد تشریحات کو ختم کرنے کی ضرورت کو اجاگر کیا۔
