BRITISH HIGH COMMISSIONER WISHES MUSLIMS IN PAKISTAN AND AROUND THE WORLD AT THE START OF RAMADAN

The British High Commissioner to Pakistan Philip Barton CMG OBE sends his warmest wishes to Muslims in Pakistan and across the world at the start of the holy month of Ramadan. He said:
“I would like to send my sincere greetings to everyone observing the Holy month of Ramadan.
“Muslims in Pakistan, the UK and around the world will sacrifice the day-to-day luxuries that we take for granted; pray for people in need; and fast to show devotion to God.
“Ramadan is a time for reflection and contemplation, for charity and compassion, and for friends and families to turn their thoughts to those less fortunate. In particular, we must not forget all those who have suffered from acts of terrorism across the country, the bravery of those engaged in operations to tackle terrorism and the people who have been displaced from Pakistan’s tribal areas over the last few years.
“I am proud the United Kingdom is playing its part in helping Pakistan through assistance to displaced people and support for its efforts to tackle terrorism.
“I wish all those Muslims in Pakistan: Ramzaan Kareem Mubarak!”
