Azadi Cup Tenpin Bowling Championship 2018; Ali Suria clinches master, Rozina Ali wins ladies titles……

The Bowler Ali Suria of Karachi won the Master singles of Azadi Cup Tenpin Bowling Championship played at Leisure City bowling club Safa Gold Mall Islamabad.Ali won the title of singles category with a massive total of 396 pin with 198 average while Saleem Baig secured 2nd sport by scoring 385 pin with 192.5 average and Ahmed Abbas Saldera remained 3rd with 355 score.In the media event Afzal Javed of Bol TV won the title with 164 pins while Shakir Abbasi of Neo news secured 2nd position and Rizwan Dhilon remained 3rd position. Islamabad based Rozina wins the ladies event. In women event, it was around 100 ladies from across the country, which showcased their skills during the event. After first two rounds, 16 ladies were left to fight it out. Rozina Ali, Amina, Shazia, Ambreen, Shaabena, Saab Saleem and Noor qualified for last 8. Rozina, Amina, Shaabina and Noor were giving their best and were not ready to go out without a fight. The lady luck favored Rozina Ali in the end, who managed to grab the title by scoring total 231 pins in two games. Amina finished second with 230 pins while Noor bagged third with 221 pins. Shaabina was just one point behind and finished fourth with 220 pins. PTBF announced a special award of Rs 5000 and a trophy for Shaabina, who came from Rahim Yar Khan to participate in the championship. In the deaf event, Qasim Asad won the title by scoring 283 pins in two games. Naseeb Ali secured second place with 259 pins and Shehzad Afridi captured third with 239 pins. Earlier teenager Daniyal Ur Rehman wins Azadi Cup U-12 title played at Leisure City Bowling Club under the supervision of Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation in collaboration with Bin Alam City. The Independence Day celebration ‘’ Azadi Cup Tenpin Bowling Champion ship 2018’’ was begins with U-12 category event with over 50 kids participated in the first round. They were reduced to 16 in the next round. It was a very close encounter between brothers Abdul Rafay Saqib and Abdul Wasay Saqib while they were closely followed by Ahmed and Ali but Daniyal was runaway leader.The Under 12 champion Daniyal got top position with the score of a whopping 299 pins in two games while the contest for second and third place went right down to the wire between Rafay and Wasay. At one stage, they were level after the completion of the first round. But Rafay changed gears and kept day-light between him and Wasay and grabbed the second slot with the total of 207 pins while Wasay had to settle for third place with the 181 pins. The Jashan Azadi Cup Tenpin Bowling Champion ship 2018 started with opening ceremony held at Leisure City Bowling Club along with beautiful musical show and mega fashion show attended by top male and female models of federal capital were the top attraction of the ceremony in front of the pack-to-capacity arena. Besides others dignities, MNA Junaid Akbar, MPA Shakeel, Air Marshal Ikram Butt, Javeed Bangesh, Chairman Pukhtun Action Committee, Ali Khan MPA, Raja Yawar, Nazim Alam Chairman Bin Alam City and Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation secretary Ijaz-Ur-Rehman also attended the opening ceremony. At the closing ceremony the winner of the master singles was rewarded with Rs 100,000 cash with trophy, 2nd position holder received Rs 50,000, 3rd position holder got Rs 25,000, 4th position holder earned Rs 15,000 and 5th position holder got Rs 10,000.The winners of the doubles event were rewarded with Rs 40,000 while 2nd position and 3rd position holders received Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000, respectively. The winner of team event was awarded with Rs 30,000 while 2nd and 3rd position holders received Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively.
Meanwhile Rs10,000 each were distributed among winner of Amateur, Deaf, Women, Under-12 and Media events. PTBF Secretary Ijaz ur Rehman said the aim of conducting Azadi Cup was to celebrate the Independence Day and to provide a platform to upcoming bowlers.“This year Pakistan tenpin bowling national team will participate in three international championships including World Bowling tour Thailand, World Men Championship Hong Kong, China and Qubica AMF held at Las Vegas USA,” he said. Speaking to media on the occasion, Chairman Bin Alam City Nazim Alam said it is a great moment for our organization to support Azadi Cup Championship and we will support the upcoming activities of Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF).
