National Disabled T-20 Cricket Championship 2015 start from today By .Asghar Ali Mubarak Islamabad—-The Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association (PDCA) together with International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is organizing ‘ICRC National Disabled T-20 Cricket Championship 2015’ for people with physical disabilities in Karachi. During the championship, the cricket players with disabilities will demonstrate how they have defeated their disability – they will show the world that human will is stronger than any disease or disability. The an important element of the ICRC’s physical rehabilitation program has been the social inclusion of the people with physical disabilities – to make them an effective part of the society. In the past, the ICRC had offered economic reintegration to such people (through its micro-economic initiatives) and recently it has been helping them in sporting activities, getting education and technical skills allowing them to reintegrate in to the society and shun the trauma faced due to their disability.The twelves participating teams Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Quetta, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Dera Murad Jamali, Bahawalpur, Sialkot, Sargodha and Peshawar will compete to become the national champion. The events is stated with Press briefing held at National Stadium Karachi folowed by curtain raiser for the trophy and official sporting kit of the championship.Today from 30th November to onwards19 matches will be played on league system with 12 teams divided in four groups at three different cricket stadiums at National Stadium Karachi,UBL Sports Complex, Karachiand Rashid Latif Cricket Academy, KarachiOn 3rd December 2015: Commemoration of International Day of People with Disabilities at National Stadium Karachi the Two quarter finals will be played,the Official ceremony will be organized attended by representatives from government and civil society.On 4thDecember 2015: Two semi-finals telecasted live by Geo Super.While on 5th December 2015the Final match telecasted live by Geo Super.Entery is free forcricket lovers and alosTickets: Open for all.

Subh-e-Nau Tennis- Top seeds confirm participation Islamabad- Most of the top seed tennis players have confirmed their entries for Subh-e-Nau National Tennis Championship which will be played from 30th November (Monday) here at PTF Tennis Complex Tennis Courts. Davis Cupper and seasoned Pakistani tennis veteran Aqeel Khan, Shahza Khan, M. Abid, top junior player M. Mudassar and leading ladies player Sara Mansoor among others have confirmed their entries for their respective categories of the tournament. It is expected that more than 150 players will take part in this 6 days tennis gala. Players can take part in 5 different categories which include Men’s Singles, Ladies Singles, and Men’s Doubles, Boys Juniors U-18 and Boys Juniors U-14. This event will carry a prize money of 0.3 million with handsome daily allowances for outstation economy class train fare will be paid to junior players. Interested players can send their entries latest by 29th November (Sunday). Players can contact Tournament referee at 0333-5158971 or Coordinator at 051-4432194 and 0321-7059269. New Directorate Monitoring and Evaluation to improve health system in Panjab ®Currently DGHS is looking after prevention and control of communicable diseases Bird flu Polio etc By.Asghar Ali Mubarak Islamabad- The Health Department of Punjab has initiated process to establish a new Directorate Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E). The new Directorate Monitoring and Evaluation is established at Lahore. Currently DGHS was looking after prevention and control of communicable diseases including bird flu ,Malaria, TB, polio, measles, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis, AIDS, ARI, diarrhoeal diseases, typhoid, meningitis, hemorrhagic fever, dengue fever, rabies, plague, influenza, etc.Despite having full-fledged Provincial and Directorate General of HealthServices (DGHS) for implementation of policies and monitoring of health delivery system in the province, the Health Department of Punjab has initiated process to establish a new Directorate Monitoring and Evaluation .The Punjab GOVERNAMENT Rs 749.519 million rupees will be spent in respect of operational cost, has raised a serious question on the ‘intention of the planners. Recruitment of top administrative and lower staff for this unit including, Director General M&E (Health), Director PHIS, Director Assessments & Survey, Director Field Monitoring & Evaluation was under process. The government of Punjab will also have offered high salary of Management Package (MP-I) and (MPII) scale to these officers.According to sourses the job of this unit would be to keep an eye on progress of all the public sector institutions, vertical programs as well as development projects in Punjab and to provide information about the achievements and gaps in Health Department to the Secretary Health and others concerned.A source in the Health Department on the condition of anonymity told that the Provincial Health Departmentoperates under the administrative control of Secretary Health, Punjab who is the head of provincial Health Department. The Health Department has two main functions including policy-making and regulatory function.To ease the burden or work, the Punjab government has bifurcated the Health System in to two parallel departments with the name of Medical Education and Tertiary care hospitals while other one Secondary & primary health care.On the other hand Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) is also the main arm of provincial health department for programme coordination, implementation and monitoring.

BRITISH HIGH COMMISSIONER AWARDS FELLOWSHIPS TO OUTSTANDING PAKISTANI JOURNALISTS By.Asghar Ali Mubarak Islamabad- The British High Commissioner to Pakistan, HE Philip Barton CMG OBE hosted a ceremony to award fellowships to seven exceptionally talented journalists from Pakistani media. The High Commissioner presented the fellowship awards under the South Asia Journalism Programme to the selected journalists. The British High Commissioner also welcomed back the 18 Pakistani Scholars from the 2014/15 Chevening Scholarship programme, who have returned from the UK this year after completing their fully-funded one-year master-level studies.The 2016 SAJP Fellowship is a tailor-made journalism skills development course developed by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office for high calibre journalists. The programme will enable journalists to explore different ways in which the media can play a role in democratic processes. It also focuses on the ways in which the media are accountable, and the wider context within which political institutions operate.The British High Commissioner to Pakistan, HE Philip Barton CMG OBE at this occion Congratulating the selected Chevening Fellows of the SAJP Programme the British High Commissioner said:“I am pleased to see today the selected fellows of Chevening South Asia Journalism Programme and the returning scholars from the Chevening one year masters programme.“I congratulate the SAJP Fellows on making it through the tough selection process. Rio de Janeiro Olympics: Brazil requested to Pakistan for security assistance during the Olympics games. By.Sufi Haroon Islamabad –First time in the history of the Olympics games the Pakistan Army / ISI is going to provide security assistance during the Rio de Janeiro Olympics will take place from 5 to 21 August 2016 and more than 10,500 athletes from 206 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) will take part in this sporting event. The games will feature 28 sports at Brazil. The Brazil has been requested during the Rio Olympics. Sports World PK com receved the information that the Brazilian authority has been approached and requested at the “Order of Merit” awarded high military honors ceremony. The Pakistan army is the vital part of international peace keeping services. The Brazilian Defense Minister met Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and requested the security through Pakistan top security agency ISI. The Brazilian Security personnel and top military intelligence officials is associated with Olympic Games at Rio de Janeiro. The Brazilian Defense Ministry’s Chief already declared Pak Army /ISI as the world’s best intelligence agency. More over that a Brazilian’s government watchdog said in an interview that “flaws” in Brazil’s border security is a “big concern” heading toward next year’s Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Augusto Nardes, a government auditor, told that police and military need better ways to control the country’s 17,000 kilometer-long (10,500-mile) border, which touches 10 countries and runs through remote areas of the Amazon jungle.“We are aware that we have seven months to correct (the problem),” Nardes said, with security issues for the Olympics on the rise following the deadly attacks almost two weeks ago in Paris.However, Public Security Secretary Regina Miki dismissed those concerns.Miki said Brazil’s policing was also questioned before the World Cup in 2014, when thousands of police and soldiers were deployed to keep order.“The Olympics in Rio will be held in total security,” she said.Andrei Rodrigues, a former bodyguard for President Dilma Rousseff and since 2013 managing Brazil’s security for special events, said the Paris attacks did not change Olympic security planning.“Brazil is now a reference in big events, we have know-how,” he said.However, independent security consultant Paulo Storani disagreed.“Brazil’s public security plan for the Olympics is a total improvisation,” he told The Associated Press. “There are no deadlines for things to happen. It is hard to know who is responsible for what.”As in most Olympics, Brazil is working with many countries, including France and the United States, to improve security. Olympic Games Executive Director Christophe Dubi, in an interview with The Associated Press, said Brazil’s experience of holding last year’s World Cup was an advantage. Community-based Police Pacification Units (UPPs) will be used to build trust in individual communities through the use of street patrols and civic work. Moreover, The Regional Institute of Public Safety reported that the homicide rate of Rio de Janeiro for the first five months of 2012 was at its lowest in the past 21 years, with 10.9 homicides for every 100,000 habitants. Nonetheless, despite the decline in homicides and human rights abuses, Human Rights Watch urged Brazil to investigate extrajudicial killings. The host city of Rio de Janeiro was announced at the 121st Session held in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 2 October 2009. The other finalists were Madrid, Spain; Chicago, United States; and Tokyo, Japan. Rio will become the first South American city to host the Summer Olympics, the second city in Latin America to host the event after Mexico City in 1968, and the first since 2000 to be held in the Hemisphere. The games will take place from 5 to 21 August 2016 and more than 10,500 athletes from 206 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) will take part in this sporting event.
