ISLAMABAD July 19( (Asghar Ali Mubarak)) Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has introduced a Merit-Based Fully Funded PhD Scholarship Program to promote a vibrant research culture in Pakistan and support talented young researchers. The initiative is aimed at enabling deserving and high-achieving students to pursue quality research without financial constraints.
Under the scholarship program, selected PhD scholars will receive a monthly stipend, full tuition fee coverage and financial assistance for other approved academic and research expenses in accordance with the University’s policy. The support is designed to help scholars focus entirely on their research and academic activities.
The program will also provide scholars with opportunities to participate in teaching, research and other academic engagements, allowing them to gain valuable teaching experience, strengthen their research capabilities and enhance their professional skills.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood said that fostering a strong research culture remains one of the University’s top priorities. He noted that a solid research foundation is essential for sustainable national development, innovation and the growth of a knowledge-based economy. He added that AIOU is committed to providing young researchers with the facilities and supportive environment needed to produce high-quality research.
He further stated that the fully funded PhD Scholarship Program will nurture the potential of emerging researchers and enable them to make meaningful contributions to national development, scientific advancement, innovation and the resolution of societal challenges. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to raising research standards to the international level and equipping young scholars to earn recognition within the global academic community.

AIOU Introduces Merit-Based PhD Scholarship Program (اصغر علی مبارک ))علامہ اقبال اوپن یونیورسٹی نے ملک میں تحقیقی کلچر کے فروغ اور باصلاحیت نوجوان محققین کی حوصلہ افزائی کے لیے پی ایچ ڈی طلبہ کے لیے میرٹ بیسڈ مکمل فنڈڈ اسکالرشپ پروگرام متعارف کرا دیا ہے۔ اس اقدام کا مقصد مستحق اور قابل طلبہ کو مالی مشکلات سے بے نیاز کرتے ہوئے عالمی معیار کی تحقیق کے لیے سازگار ماحول فراہم کرنا ہے۔اس پروگرام کے تحت منتخب پی ایچ ڈی سکالرز کو ماہانہ وظیفہ، مکمل ٹیوشن فیس اور یونیورسٹی کی پالیسی کے مطابق دیگر منظور شدہ تعلیمی و تحقیقی اخراجات کی مالی معاونت فراہم کی جائے گی تاکہ وہ اپنی تمام تر توجہ معیاری تحقیق اور علمی سرگرمیوں پر مرکوز رکھ سکیں۔اسکالرشپ پروگرام کے تحت سکالرز کو تدریسی، تحقیقی اور دیگر علمی سرگرمیوں میں حصہ لینے کے مواقع بھی فراہم کیے جائیں گے جس سے انہیں عملی تدریسی تجربہ، تحقیقی مہارت اور پیشہ ورانہ صلاحیتوں کو مزید نکھارنے کا موقع ملے گا۔وائس چانسلر، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ناصر محمود نے کہا کہ علامہ اقبال اوپن یونیورسٹی میں تحقیقی کلچر کا فروغ ان کی اولین ترجیحات میں شامل ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ مضبوط تحقیقی بنیاد ہی کسی بھی ملک کی پائیدار ترقی، اختراع اور علم پر مبنی معیشت کی ضامن ہوتی ہے، اسی لیے یونیورسٹی نوجوان محققین کو ہر ممکن سہولت اور سازگار تحقیقی ماحول فراہم کرنے کے لیے عملی اقدامات کر رہی ہے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ مکمل فنڈڈ پی ایچ ڈی اسکالرشپ پروگرام نوجوان محققین کی صلاحیتوں کو نکھارنے کے ساتھ انہیں قومی ترقی، سماجی مسائل کے حل، جدید سائنسی تحقیق اور اختراع کے میدان میں مؤثر کردار ادا کرنے کے قابل بنائے گا۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ یونیورسٹی کا عزم ہے کہ تحقیق کے معیار کو بین الاقوامی سطح تک پہنچایا جائے اور نوجوان سکالرز کو عالمی تحقیقی برادری میں نمایاں مقام حاصل کرنے کے لیے ہر ممکن معاونت فراہم کی جائے۔پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ناصر محمود نے خواہشمند طلبہ پر زور دیا کہ وہ اس بہترین موقع سے بھرپور استفادہ کرتے ہوئے پی ایچ ڈی اسکالرشپ پروگرام کے لیے درخواست دیں اور معیاری تحقیق کے ذریعے ملک و قوم کی ترقی میں اپنا مؤثر کردار ادا کریں۔پی ایچ ڈی اسکالرشپ پروگرام، اہلیت کے معیار اور درخواست جمع کرانے کی تفصیلات علامہ اقبال اوپن یونیورسٹی کی ویب سائٹ www.aiou.edu.pk پر دستیاب ہیں
